How to log a credit score

Logging your score is how BuildCreditAI tracks your progress over time. Here's where to do it and what each field means.

Find the score button on your dashboard

From your dashboard, look for the score section near the top. There's a button to update your score (its exact wording is personalized to you). Click it and an inline form appears — you don't leave the page.

Enter your score and where you checked it

Type your current credit score as a whole number between 300 and 850. Then pick where you checked it — Credit Karma, Experian, Self, Manual, or Other — so you remember the source later. You can add an optional short note, for example "paid down a card this month." Then click Save.

How logging affects your journey

Your logged scores build the timeline you see on your dashboard, and each one is tied to a month of your plan. If you log a score for a month you've already recorded, the new value replaces the old one rather than adding a duplicate. You can also add a score for a specific month from the roadmap page.

Key Takeaways

  • Log scores from the score section on your dashboard.
  • Enter a whole number from 300 to 850 and tag where you checked it.
  • Re-logging the same month replaces the earlier value; scores power your progress timeline.
